The organisation Cycle Against Suicide came in to speak to us for the first three classes of the day. We were allowed to wear our own clothes on one condition – we must wear something orange. Pretty much everyone in the year wore something orange so that when the men came in they were hit by a sea of orange. It was nice hearing the personal experiences of the men who came in. They talked to us about their own struggles with mental health and suicide. Joe Dixon explained all the struggles he had when his own son committed suicide and the founder, Jim Breen, told us a collection of stories from throughout his life. They were presented with a phone case made by Club Essential, one of the TY enterprise businesses, which had the cycle against suicide logo on it. We had pictures taken and overall it was a great day.
